About me
Hi, I'm Tashara! I'm a cheerful, yet awkward person with a lot of hobbies. My core hobbies are playing video games, learning how to code websites, painting digitally, and learning languages. Some of my random talents include various yarn crafts, sewing, graphic design, and learning how to play instruments. Speaking of instruments, I have a fixation on the Japanese shamisen, but can very sufficently play the Saxophone. I also have a bass guitar that I will one day learn how to play.
In the professional world, I am a Collection Development Manager at our library. I like to think of myself as a Metadata Fairy! My duties include maintaining, evaluating, and weeding our library's collection, conducting community analyses, placing book orders, and so much more. I maintain and post content to our social media. I am also our library's sole cataloger, who finds joy in puzzling MARC records and deciding on where books must best be classified. I also manage book budgets, log invoices, and problem-solve for the about 13 branches in our system. It's tough work, but someone has to do it!
I love a good challenge, and am always taking on way more than what I can chew. I'm immensely curious and enjoy a good puzzle or grilling others with questions, if I have the time for it.
